FOOD SAFETY POLICY
Adefunke Desh Nigeria Limited recognizes the value, importance, and necessity of food safety as fundamental to our business. We are dedicated to safeguard our stakeholders, employees, customers, and consumers by operating in a hygienic workplace, Cleaning, Storing and distributing grains that are always safe for their intended use. We at Adefunke Desh Nigeria Limited developed our Food Safety Management System based on GFSI requirements.
In implementing this policy, Adefunke Desh Nigeria Limited will:
1. Communicate and promote food safety aspects; strategies and performance to both employee (at all levels and functions of the organization) and business partners (including suppliers, contractors, investors and stake holders) that have impact on, or are affected by the company’s food safety management system.
2. Set key measurable objectives and metrics for Food Safety Management System that will be reviewed annually.
3. Undertake routine audits of food safety practices and operating procedures, to ensure that employees comply with all company food safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
4. Compliance to applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and mutually agreed customers’ requirements related to food safety.
5. Provision of resources to develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve Food Safety Management System based on ISO 22000: 2018 +ISO TS 22002-1:2009.
6. Communication of Food Safety Management Systems requirements to all Staff, Customers, Consumers, Visitors, Suppliers, Contractors, and all stakeholders.
7. Build a food safety capability, mindset and culture through structured programs that develop employees’ competencies and technical skills, increase awareness, manage risk and drive increasing levels of excellence across the organization.
8. Periodically review this food safety policy to ensure that it remains relevant and applicable to our business as well as to effectively manage food safety risk associated with changes in products, processes, and technologies.
9. Establish Food loss and waste Objectives and implement actions to curb Food loss and waste along the supply chain.
